Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education Neighborhood-Based Programs
Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education has programs based in elementary and middle schools and recreation centers in primarily high-poverty, low-income neighborhoods in the Philadelphia area. Through these programs, we reach children who are at highest risk of dropping out of school or becoming engaged in violent crime or other destructive behaviors. Many of our neighborhood-based programs are provided at no charge or at a reduced rate.
The following is a list of programs that are held throughout the Philadelphia region:

Love 2 Serve
Love 2 Serve is a community partnership born of the recognition that more is needed in Philadelphia's most under served communities where school drop-out and violent crime rates have increased at alarming rates. Through Love 2 Serve, work with partners in the community to convert underused parks and playgrounds into vibrant community centers. Love 2 Serve focuses on communities surrounding three nearby recreation centers in North Philadelphia. Young people at the sites are provided, at no charge, year round tennis instruction, enrichment activities, homework help, healthy meals, and life skills training. Additionally, groups of 10-12 year olds are transported to the state-of-the-art Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Center twice each week for additional tennis and enrichment activities in our computer learning center. Check out the work at our Love2Serve Penrose Playground.

The Camden program has emerged as a year-round initiative with our after school and summer NJTL programs that uses tennis as an instructional tool to teach the importance of healthy habits, the benefits of physical fitness, and good nutrition; and to teach life lessons in the relevance of citizenship, through character development. It also places an emphasis on good sportsmanship in an activity that requires participants to act as their own referees.
This program is provided at no charge to participants. If you would like more information, please contact us online anytime or phone 215-487-3477 during business hours.
