AAYTE Participants to be WTT Kidcasters!
Friday, May 18, 2007
The Philadelphia Freedoms hosted the World Team Tennis KidCaster program presented by Advanta and Comcast SportsNet at the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Center. Luke Jensen, 1993 French Open doubles champion, ESPN tennis analyst and World Team Tennis Veteran, and Derrick Gunn of Comcast SportsNet were on hand to host the WTT KidCaster Auditions. The aspiring broadcasters on hand also had the opportunity to participate in a tennis clinic run by Jensen. Participants were provided a 20-second audition script and were asked to read it in front of a panel of judges. A number of the kids brought their own unique style and personality to the auditions. None more than Jonathon Singleton who won two Phillies tickets for his humorous take on the script. Age division winners were Sarah
Rubin for the 10-14 age category and Christopher McClellan for ages 6-9. For the second straight year both Kidcasters will be participants from AAYTE! As the official World Team Tennis Kidcasters, Sarah and Christopher will now have the opportunity to interview Venus Williams at the Philadephia Freedoms match on July 20th at Cabrini College. Congratulations to all of this years participants. You all did a fantastic job! |
